Does a good job on hardwood, tile and an okay job on very low pile carpet (think indoor/outdoor). We've got 3 cats and a dog, lots of hair, and the compact size of this vac makes it easy to do a sweep a few times a week. Wouldn't recommend it for plush carpet. The warning: It came with 3 extra bags.
