The first refurb that Amazon sent over was defective. The head wouldn't securely fasten to the telescoping wand, resulting in the rotary brush frequently and uncontrollably shutting off.
I contacted Amazon and they paid for return shipping and dispatched a second unit even before I sent the first back. Great service.
The second unit had some small scrapes, but I guess that's about par for refurbished units. It works great though, which is all that matters. The functioning, weight, ease of use, quietness, etc., are all what I expected from such an expensive, and much-hyped, vacuum cleaner brand.
