This couldn't be a more perfect fit for my condo! I have mainly wood floors and area rugs. This does a much better job than any vacuum I've tried, including "hard floor" uprights. The only thing some may find distasteful is having to empty the bag. If you have dust allergies, this vacuum may not be for you. It's not "bagless" in the usual sense, but rather it has a permanent dust bag that you need to empty. Just shake it out and rinse and air dry the bag when necessary. Doesn't bother me in the least. No more trying to find "special" bags as with some vacuums. Type "T" bags, anyone?? My old Eureka canister hits the trash!
If you're worried about suction, try removing the hose from the business end and sticking the vacuum flat to a wall! I remember seeing this demo when I was a kid back in the 70's and you know what?
